National Anthem "God Save the Queen" has been dumped for Commonwealth Games opening in Australia

When Queen Elizabeth II opens the Games, it'll be to the strains of 'Advance Australia Fair' rather than 'God Save the Queen'.

Monarchists say it's a snub to the Queen, while the Australian Republican Movement has welcomed the decision by Games organisers.

I expect we will be sending the troops down there to restore some kind of order to this principality of ours. I believe that every country in the Commonwealth Games should have to sing our anthem at 12 noon every day to remind them all that if it wasn't for the British their pitiful nations would have not even got off the ground.

I am not as such against Australia having their own anthem, as long as it is Rolf Harris on a wobble board playing "Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport".

I think the Queen should turn heel on the Auzzies, she was getting some boo's in Cardiff on Wednesday. A heel run in well over due IMO.

Damn straight. Get Tony Blair and Gordon Brown to start kicking off with the Aussie PM and then "god save the queen" starts up, the Queen is here, she'll save the poor little Aussie. Instead she picks up her VIP chair and waffles him straight in the face a la Bash At The Beach style Hogan turn. The crowd is in shock, the new qWo is in force, she starts using sun beds to a dangerous level and using boot polish as a beard, Hendrix as the national anthem and Prince Phillip becomes the Disciple
