Did you ever lose your wallet?

I bring this topic up for two reasons.

One, because I'm bored watching NASCAR Nextel Cup Qualifying.

Secondly because there's nothing more that pisses me than when I lose something, and I've finally calmed down after losing my wallet for about 30 seconds. Of course I was the dumbass that was at fault. It fell out of my pocket when I was sitting in the PC Chair. Both are dark colors, so they blended together. Only after opening my eyes did I see it.

Thirdly, one time as a prank I "stole" my friends wallet. He just bought this like $99 wallet from Louie Vittain (I don't even know how to spell it) and was flashing it off like he's a pimp. So he left it on the table at Denny's and I just took it. He was hardcore pissed, and I just played it like "you were the dumbass flashing it off." The next day I mailed it to his house. He actually blames it on another friend because of the way the address was wrote out.

No, I have never lost my wallet.

I'm a good old rebel,
Now thats just what I am,
And for this Yankee nation,
I do not give a damn.
I'm glad we fought against her,
I only wish we'd won.
I ain't asking any pardon for anything we've done.

I saved a wad of cash when I was in my late teens for a holiday and drew it all out of the bank the day before I was due to go. Then, needing a tiny bit more for the bus ride home, and not wanting to break into my holiday cash yet, I got a little more out of the ATM inside the bank. I'd put my wallet full of my holiday cash on top of the ATM.

Outside I saw my boss and decided if I ran real quick I could catch it. To my relief, I did.

Later at home, my Dad asked me if I'd got my holiday money out. I said yeah it's on my wallet on the table, to which he said no it wasn't. I did that thing where you act cool at first, making out your not bothered or that your parent is just being stupid, but it quickly dawned on me what had happened so I got him to drive me straight back into town and to the bank.

I told the tellers about the wallet being missing and described it etc and eventually a secretary came out of the office for me to go see the bank manager.

The manager was a pretty smug guy and started asking me descriptive questions about the wallet. What colour was it, how many zippers, how much money was in it. Obviously, I got all the questions right until he then said "also there is one thing in this persons wallet that only they would know was there, tell me what it is and it's yours".

My mind was racing, pics of my g/f, my family, a little note my g/f had given to me that I'd kept, all sorts of stuff was coming out but I was just getting shakes of the head....until it hit me.

Inside the zipper, the smallest zipper, is an emergency condom....just in case!! Bingo, that was the answer the smug bastard had me reaching for for 10 minutes.

I should have stabbed him!! (funnily enough when it did become the time for the "emergency condom" to have it's day in the sun, it was about a year out of date and just fell apart in my hands!!)

Thankfully I never lost my wallet, I always keep it in my side pocket and can feel it. That way I can tell right away if it falls out or is stolen.

Visit and shop for video games at my Amazon-based store, also get discounted HD DVDs while they last.

I lost it once in high school. I think I had $50-60 dollars inside of it. I was changing for gym class. It must have been the last period of the day or second to last period and I just left my shorts on or whatever. I didn't even know I lost it until someone brought it up to me. It must have fell out. The money was gone but I knew the person that found it didn't take it. He told me who he thought took it but I'm not a big guy so I wasn't going to challenge anyone for it back. I didn't have a credit card at the time so it didn't matter. It just sucked the money was gone.
