yea there is a national seatbelt law but its not a primary offense. here they were going to make it so if a cop saw you were not wearing a seatbelt then they would be able to pull you over for that and then they could run your plates and check for warrants and whatever else they do.

They may not be able to do that much longer since if this goes to the Supreme Court(which it will) and they uphold it, then you can be sure that other states will start passing similiar laws.

This case is drawing an enormous amount of attention because as far as I know this would be the first state to ever ban most types of abortion and it has the potential to become major news if Roe V. Wade ends up being challenged in the Supreme Court.

I don't know. People bring up this crap about how many people are using abortion as birth control. Of course, there are always crazies out there who do crazy things, but I really don't think that very many people actually use abortion in that way. Do you people realize that abortions are costly - and not just in money terms either, but I hear they can be quite painful and we all know they can greatly affect people mentally as well.
I just don't think people are really going out and saying, fuck, I don't have a condom, well, I'll just abort. Now, the RU 486 is diifferent, yes people do use that as a birth control method. But I don't think that's what most are talking about when they say people use abortion as birthcontrol. The morning after pill is quite different from the procedures you get at planned parenthood. The morning after pill is actually more like birth control in and of itself. edit - a back up method if you will.

I don't really think that people use abortion as a form of birth control because like you said it is costly monetarily, physically, and emotionly as well.
However, I do think that too many abotions are going on in this country and there needs to be some limits on them in my opinion. An all out ban, no. But some restrictions, yes.

I think the states should be allowed to decide so long as they allow for first trimester and for issues of mother's health, and probably rape and incest too, but those should really be done w/in first trimester.
I'm basically following Roe's original opinion. It's a hell of a read.

In a perfect world I would like to see abortion banned except for rape, incest, and the sake of the mother's health. But that is not feasible because how are you going to tell if someone is lying or not? Then you would also have women getting abortions anyway in very unsanitary conditions.

So I guess the best I can hope for is getting rid of partial birth abortion.
