The metal futon is alright, because it's got a little more bounce than a normal futon, but I had mine for a few years and the pipes/bars just got warped to shit. It was a foldable one, but about a month ago I tried to fold it into a couch and a bunch of shit just snapped.

This new one is heaven... it's all hand-made, layered cotton-foam-cotton-foam-cotton like twenty times over (the lady in the store sold me on it). The mattress is about a foot deep too, which is nice.

I've always slept on futons, so I'm a fan. You get a good, healthy sleep... lots of support, you know.
