Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Dak... I need your help sir A good general ignorance question is 'How many Kings visited Jesus when he was born' People natuarally say 3 because three gifts were given to christ at his birth. Am i right in assuming that the bible doesnt mention the amount of people who came.. just the amount of gifts that were delivered? so we could have had one King bringing all three gifts maybe? Whats your take on that sir. Another question would be what Animals were present at the birth of jesus.. people say Sheep, an Ass, cow etc. But is it correct that the bible doesnt mention he was born in a stable, all it does is mention he was born in a manger.. so people then naturally assumed it was a stable.. as Did the great lover of animals St Francis of Assisi when he created nativity scene in approx the 13th century.. in a stable, with animals around it, and that has now become the norm in regards to christs birth. I dont want to argue religion here.. far from it, what is the truth about the above questions? |

So I would take that to mean more than one by it saying men, and they. So that is my take on that. Correct. It never says that he was born in a stable, just born and placed in a manger. But that would be the obvious place for a manger to be and they were looking for shelter so that is the common interpretation. As far as I can tell I can find no mention of animals being present during the birth, but I guess that is just another assumption since he was placed in a manger.

He did this because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, whom he had married. 18For John had been saying to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife." Looks like according to that her name was Herodias who at one time was his brother's wife. That is the only reference to Herod's wife I can find.

Oh well. Herod is mostly mentioned in the books of Mattew, Mark, Luke, and John. I guess the other wives were mentioned in some of the earlier books of the Bible.
