Well if you are brain dead you wouldn't feel anything anyway.

There was a question about the Schiavo case though. From what I saw she could actually respond to some things. But if someone is just laying there and they never open their eyes or move their extremities and really the only thing functioning is their internal organs then that is a pretty obvious call.

Most of the doctors who examined her said that was an automatic response from her body and that all her higher brain functions were dead.

Yeah. But to see someone that can sit up like she did and look around.....I just don't know. That would be a tough call.

But like I said someone that just lies there and doesn't move, well it is obvious that they are completely brain dead.

Being put on a ton of medications isn't that different from completely suffering.

My mom had cancer too and she was on a ton of medication but she'd wake up confused, screaming, throwing things, crying, and acting all incoherent. Some of her pain was subdued but clearly it wasn't humane.

Any god who gets off on others suffering isn't the kind of god you want to be worshipping, but that's just my opinion.

I agree any god that "gets off" as you say, because someone is suffering isn't the kind of god you would want to be worshipping.

The God that I worship does not "get off" on other people suffering though.

If only god can see the logic (god + logic = no equation) of watching someone suffer unbearably before they die then he must be getting something out of it.
