If you want me to be dead honest, I'm blind too, my friends are the ones who can see. And I can't see how dating blind chicks would be any different for you guys as dating sighted chicks is for me. You just sort of look past that because it really doesn't matter. If you're cool you're cool no matter who you are, and if you're a bitch you're a bit, same thing.

So you have some sort of audio thing that reads the text or what?

Yup, that's how it works. I use a program called JAWS. There are other ones out there but this is the only one I've ever really used. It tells me what's on the screen as I scroll through things with the keyboard. It works pretty well, I can do most internet things and pretty much everything else, but some stuff gives me trouble, like those fucking security graphics you need to sign up for this board. But the admins are cool and I got a hand getting that done so it's all good...at least for me. Those things are a pain in the ass though since the pictures aren't tagged so the screen reader can't do anything with them other than piss me off by doing nothing.

So Steve W....have you dated sighted chicks before then and if so, is that harder than dating someone who's also blind?

I have and to be honest, I never noticed a difference. Like I said before, people are people and as long as you can accept somebody for who they are then you'll have no problems.

Besides, I'm sort of a strange blind guy in the sense that I don't really act all that blind. I watch TV and movies, go to concerts, hang out with friends, go drinking, get around cities by myself, all that stuff. Other blind people do that too, but I'm talking blind in the sense that I think most sited people picture us. Other than my eyes not working and waving a cane around in front of me to help me not bump into shit, I'm just a normal guy. I hang out with a lot of sighted people and there's really not much of a gap between us when it comes to enjoying each other's company, and dating has been the same way I've always found.

I have to ask whats it like being drunk? and im not trying to be a ass or anything, im just curious because we see things in a different light, but being blind it must be different!!

I think being blind is the most insightful thing there can be.....Like mediating 24/7: hearing everything around you all the time, Not judging a person by there looks but by there personality, and tasting food to the full extent.

I wanna be blind for a week just to feel what its like.

Being drunk as a blind person, well, it's hard to describe how different it would be since I've never been drunked like one of you would have been. But when I get drunk it's a loose sort of feeling. The tention sort of leaves you and you feel very buzzed and just sort of chilled, ok, at least I do. Some blind drunks get angry, some get loud. Me I just like to sing and talk to people I don't know about politics and life.
