Your E-Skills

Let's be honest in this thread please.

How many words can you type a minute (roughly).

Do you have to look at the keyboard?

I started off 10 years ago working at Verizon barely being able to stare at a keyboard without mispelling something or typing like 10 words a minute.

I tried something though. Once I got the basic "where the hell is everything" of the keyboard down, I decided to try to look at it as little as possible.

Now some 10 years later, I can type roughly 100-125 words in a minute without looking at the keyboard.

The backspace button still gets a decent amount of work, but I will NOT LOOK DOWN.

Now you go.

P.S. I think I may be running out of things to talk about. :erm2:

I need to look down at my keyboard every 10 seconds or so but I can still type pretty fast, i'm not sure how fast though. When I got my laptop last one it was the first time I had used one and it took me some time to get used to typing on it since all the keys are more bunched together than they are on a keyboard.

I don't look down, years of wasting time on msn messenger have taught me how to touch type fluently.

Haven't tested how fast I can type though.

I remember in 9th grade I could do over 100 EASILY.

I used to take on this really nerdy kid to see who could go the fastest (kind of sounds sexual) and I never lost.

I really have no idea how fast I can type now. It might be worse, it might be a lot better.

I'm positive I can type faster and with less errors then Simon though.

I used to be really fast on my old keyboard. I have this laptop now, and I'm slowly getting used to it. All the keys are small and close together, and some stuff is in different spots. I always end up hitting CAPS accidently when I'm trying to type an 'A'. It's really annoying.

I was trained in high school and again in college Bulldog.

In addition, I am typing reports and stuff all day at work so it's something I use on a daily basis.

I don't know but I would say around 50 words a minute. My typing has gotten better since I started posting here.
