Anxiety

For the last week I've been having a really hard time breathing properly -- that is, taking deep breaths especially. I went to the campus doctor, and she said it's because I'm stressed out. Anxiety, she says.

Does this happen to anyone else? I've always been the coolest, most collected cat in town... I have a hard time believing her.

So are you saying that you are not stressed about anything? This has happend to me before, but it was more nervousness than actual stress. Stress to me is something that you are hardcore over.. Being a little nervous is something that can happen over anything.

I'm the most neurotic person in the planet, so yes, this has happened to me before.

Actually, this year it has gotten better. It's just sometimes life hits you a certain way and it's very hard to react to it.

Yeah, it might not be stress. But I do have a million things on my plate right now. Being back at school isn't helping at all, since I have things constantly due, and this Writing program I'm in is getting way too hardcore. Big-time shock after a way too relaxing summer.

I've also been getting involved in hockey and football leagues, trying to find time for my girlfriend, wasting all my down-time on things like JVN (haha)... I probably could slow down some. My hair is getting thinner... that freaks me out.

When you say it's happened to you before, do you mean the breathing thing? A couple of my friends (big study-ers/overachievers) said they get it from time to time.

Yes, breathing difficulties does happen from time to time.

You are missing your friends home and family. You are overwhelmed by everything that is going on right now.

Being the coolest, most collected cat, you need to use that to your advantage and try and meet some new people.

You may have the opposite of social anxiety. Being alone or away from what you know can be the cause. Don't get bored and stay around people a lot.

You are waiting until the last minute to do all your school work aren't you? I feel that. I always wait until the last minute and then I'm like, "Oh no, what am I gonna do?"

You have to train yourself to go at this shit hardcore so you can relax the rest of the time. Get it done, then party. Not party, and then try to get it done.

I still live at home, haha. I mean, I sleep here. I've been spending way too much time out and about and being busy somewhere; I think that's a big part of the problem.

And I've actually met one really hot girl in four of my five classes, including the girl who last year I told all my friends was "the hottest girl on campus." Now she sits beside me in class and gave me her phone number so we can talk about our American Beauty assignment!

It's nice to hear people say they've had the breathing thing before. It was really scaring me for a while.
