Rep Power: 8 ![]() | The Great Debate Tourny This is an idea that failed miserably, but I dont understand why, seems pretty simple to me. So Im returning to it. Its a tournament where people Challenge eachother in debating skills. It's a 1 on 1 thing through each round, where we, the people, vote for the best debater to go through. I'm going to try and keep this as free-flowing as possible, there will be reasonable deadlines, if a debater doesn't make the deadline with their post, they are kicked out. Different posters will be treated differently in terms of deadlines, as some of you post on here daily from work, and other's dont get on here as much. I dont expect anyone to free up time to specifically post here, but if you've been online a lot and havent made the deadline then it wont be extended. So here's how it actually works: Poster A vs Poster B- Eg topic: Should free music downloading be legal? Poster A HAS to debate for it, Poster B HAS to debate against it. We (Everyone who isnt involved in the actual match-up) will vote for the best debates. Thing that should be taken into account when voting: - Importantly, making 30 long posts to make the same point because you havent gotten it across properly is a no-no, voters should pick up on that. The poster debating For, will start the debate. The poster debating Against, will respond. The debate posts should be concise, of fair length, and like I said, should definatel not involve reams and reams of pages of crap because you didnt express yourself properly and have to keep replying in order to get your point across. |

Rep Power: 8 ![]() | Who's signing up? You'll be picked at random to face eachother with random topics. Anyone who has idea's for topics its very much welcome, let's try and keep them fresh, the War on Iraq could ramble on for years. Topics that have an end... |

Rep Power: 8 ![]() | It looks like the final is going to be Me vs You haha. I'll figure out more stuff as soon as we get some people signed up. You'll have time to prepare, maybe like a week. |
