Cooking-what do you make when you do?

What are some of your favorite things to make? Do you try new things or are you in the habit of making the same thing each week? DO you make things that are good but fast or do you cook things that take a long time? Do you have side dishes or cook so it is just one basic dish?

Do you just boil hotdogs and pop popcorn? When you go buy your groceries do you plan for the week or just buy randomly?

I don't do that much cooking. I don't think you can even call what I do is cooking. All I do is warm up a t.v. dinner, or open a can of something, or make some Ramen noodles. My mom cooks the real food. And she tries some new recipes, but for the most part sticks to old favorites.

My wife mainly makes Filipino dishes. Lumpia, Pancit, Bihon, etc.

I am learning but still have a long way to go.

I am also trying to get back in shape so I am sticking to a better diet than I was before she got here now.

If it goes in the microwave then thats what I eat...... seriously. I think it's way overdue for me to start to learn how to cook!

I tend to buy cheap cuts of meat, and cheaper veg, but buy plenty of herbs and spices and chillis and shit and go from there. I also buy 2-3 bottles of Passatta a week, makes a good base for a sauce.

I tend not to buy pre-prepared food, I enjoy making things from scratch. I'm a pretty good cook I suppose, speciallity is hot and sour chicken from scratch, or pasta dishes.

I'm similiar to Matt, in that I don't buy pre-prepared foods. It's cheaper to get the ingredients and make it yourself, plus it tastes better.

However, I do eat out a lot, but when I do cook it's usually a stir fry, or a soup, or a roast.

I like to make toast and eggs and maybe toss in a sausage in the microwave...I like to eat breakfast food a lot...its good on any time of the day!

Some other stuff I'd probably make are tuna sandwiches or chicken salads...I'm also addicted to cheese so probably mac n' cheese and grilled cheese sandwich.
