Is there a cure for cancer?

so, do you believe that they could cure cancer/ create a drug that will, but don't b/c it's not as profitable as the temporary solutions and cures they have now.
is a permanant cure or even something that prevents all forms (or various things that prevent various forms) of cancer possible?

we've got some scientist haters in here so it could go either way, course this does assume the worst in people/companies heads/ drug companies, and some people won't believe people would hold such a cure back.

so if they could cure/prevent cancers, would they?

(oh man people are gonna be pissed, haha)

No, I think they would cure it.

A lot of medicines and whatnot have cured cancer so far. Look at Lance Armstrong as an example.

There's an obvious progress so I don't think they would hide it away. Plus, I would think there would be a huge profit in the cure as opposed to sitting on it.

Cancer has really affected my life. My Dad died in may if 2004 after a four year battle with colon cancer. My Dad's sister died last month after a five year battle with cancer. His other sister has had cancer for about 8 years and is still battling it. One of his brothers has had cancer for about 2 years.

I do think they could be doing more to cure it. I do think that they would definitely hold a cure back if it would benefit them financially to stay with the current method.

I don't think there is right now, but hopefully soon. That radiation therapy usually kills the person before the cancer does.

Actually, RNAi shows a lot of promise to curing a lot of deseases. It is a very interesting thing that they discorvered by accident. If there is ever going to be a cure, I think that will be what cures it.

ok, what if there's a simple, cheap, abundant herb that can prevent cancer, purely hypothetical. would they tell us?

I don't think they would. Chemotherapy is very very very expensive. They would stand too much to lose.
