Is it too civilised now?

Now obviously, I've not been here anywhere near as long as a lot of the posters here. However, looking at some of the "Greatest Threads Ever" posts got me thinking. There used to be some major rivalries on here, you know full on ranting stuff. The forum seems to now have a more civilised core to it and even the arguements are usually pretty reasoned and don't seem to always resort to the lowest denominators.

Therefore, my question to those of you that have been around longer than I is "do you miss your old days?" of is it the case that you like looking back at them but don't want to live through them again?

I dont think the Ranting really represents the forum of before, people just like to highlight because its obviously fun. I first started posting here around Christmas 2000, and its changed a lot. Its a decent place to visit now, but I really liked it when I first joined. Or maybe Im less entertained then when I was 13.

There is a nice mix of decent posting with bile and crap though, I'll give it that. The other forum I frequent is just full of bullshit, its like a transcripted chat room.

Well, I havent been here as long as some people, but I definitely like it better now than when I first started. I feel there's a good mix of silliness and serious discussion. I also feel like people can have well thought out debates without resorting to name-calling, something which didnt always seem possible in the past

It was getting to the point a while ago where every forum was becoming the NHB forum.

Yes, it may be a little too tame for some, but you can always take it to the NHB. Also, I think its because we have aired out most of our differences in the past and weeded out the poor debators and idiots.

Yeah it was a bit more uncivil back in the day but I think that as we all have grown and matured the forum has grown and matured.

How bout the random polls..I was reading some old shit and every thread had a random poll..

It was like..even the Water Cooler had weird polls about wrestling involving Kane or something..lol

Ya, but what will happen is people will also post who they voted for and somehow spawn a whole different conversation about the poll. All it takes is one post to sent a thread off in 5 other different directions lol.

And you never saw my battles with ROB*AKA*LITAS*THONG. We would argue in the WWF forum and suddenly we'd question the others defination of the word TRUTH and this all would go on for several pages with very little interaction with other members. To be fair he was a complete doofus, truthfully.

Also, let's not forget some of my more famous threads like, "I Hope Jeff Hardy Breaks His F'N Neck" right before one of his crazy hardcore matches at WrestleMania. That nearly got me banned and there was some name calling.
