Live 8! Greatest moment of my life!

Ok, i wasn't there but my mum and aunt were and said it was electric. Everything appart from pete dogherty{spelling?} Mariah Carey and the bad mouthed snoop dogg, i mean someone could have told them not to swear but there he was spoiling the whole thing.

And after robbie williams came the moment i will never forget.

First:

The Mighty Mighty The Who!

And then, for the first time in 23 years all together on one stage:

The Unbeliveable Pink Floyd.

These two acts one after another nearly had me in tears, my dad the most chilled out i'd ever seen him and my sister with tears of joy.
I had the tv maxed out and i just sat back as the who rocked out and then i just died as pink floyd started. It was the greatest feeling in the world it was just a shame i couldn't go.
It will never be repeated and never again will we see any of the bands that were on today on such top form.

{I kinda know this should of gone in the music forum but please don't move it}

Me For Admin by 2010!

Sunderland 2 - Newcastle 1

Quote from BBC Pictures:

"It is Rovers' Paul Ince left frustrated as he faces former Manchester United colleague Roy Keane as a manager for the first time"

This 3 days after the two met in the carling cup

One day, people might actually step back and care about the shit happening in their OWN countries.

Mass unemployment, Taxation, Sever inconsistencies in minumum wage, the NHS and their waiting lists, Crime levels, not enough police on the streets, housing costs, civil rights etc.

Now im employed in a well paid job.. I have a roof over my head, im in no debt and have no diseases. But no way could I find it financially viable to bring a child into the world at the moment.

Yet these people are riddled with diseases.. have no clean water and no stable food resources (apart from us sending donations) yet they continue to bring kids into the world.

The money should be spent on Sex education and contraception.

Yeah.. Live 8. What a fucking great day. It may feed a few kids but it wont address the real problem

Heartlessly put but quite right, that continent needs to be educated. In many areas they think the cure to AIDS is to "deflower a virgin". We do have a moral obligation to help africa but food and blankets is not the way to go. We need to build an infrastructure, encourage irrigation and encourage democracy and education. The fact that we still subsidise our own farmers in Europe cripples Africas best chance at trade which is farming. The fact that the little natural resources inside Africa (oil on the western coastline and diamonds in S. Africa) are still being pilliaged by western governments is what should make us hold our heads in shame. The simple fact is that untill we take a new veiw of Africa as a continent rich in ariable farmlands given the right programs, and a continent with potential instead of seeing it as the worlds sick cousin Africa will never grow because it nevers feels that it could or that it has too.

I had a sig, once.

Why don't the wankers on stage give up their multi million dollar estates, and live like a normal person, instead of asking all of us, who have trouble making ends meet, donate our money.

Live 8 = hypocrite central.

No-one was ever asked to donate any money. All you were asked to do was add your name to a petition to say you stand behind the views.
