I realize that the common sterotype in THE UK is that Americans are dumb and fat but its all about your common area.
Many North Americans don't know much about the UK because quite simply we don't need to. I understand its good to know the basics of the different countries of the world, but its like the UK and its people are screaming "Bloody hell, we were here first !! Look at us !!"
Take it for what its worth, but I gather when we really break it down, you know just as little about the United States as we Americans know about your homeland.
Here's a little quiz for you that 9/10 North American JVN'ers would get at least 90% of the questions correct. Lets see how you do.
1. What year did the Pilgrims land on Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts
2. Name the last 7 United States Presidents
3. How many time zones are there in the United States
4. What states border California?
5. Have the Cubs won the world series in the past 50 years?
6. Who owns the New York Yankees?
7. How many Senators are there in Congress?
8. Name the capitals of Florida, Tennesee and New York
9. What's the legal drinking age in the United States?
10. Where is Gator Alley?
11. What's the "Windy City"?
12. What happens there, stays there.
13. Where is Mt. Rushmore?
Point being, these are not brainteasers but any stretch of the imagination. I bet you have to look up at least 7 of the answers.

This is from what i remembered...correct me if I'm wrong..(by the way..I'm Canadian...representing Toronto..hahahaha)
1) I think the pilgrims founded Plymouth on Dec. 21, 1620, establish a settlement that became the seat of Plymouth Colony in 1633 and a part of Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1691. (learn in American History class)
2) Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, GHW Bush, Clinton, GW Bush (this one is easy)
3) 3 time zones
4) (this one is a tough one..i'm guessing..cuz i've been to Cali before) on the North side..is Oregon..umm..south is Mexico as i recall..East side is Nevada and Arizona. and the West is the Pacific Ocean.
5) No..hahaha..but the question should of been..have the cubs EVER won a world series? hahaha jkjk
6) Originally I dunno this answer..but my friends and I were talking about MLB today..and we're talking about who won the Jays..then i asked him who own the all star team (Yankees) and my friend told me is George M. Steinbrenner
7) man..what kind of question is this..i'm not from the US..i dunno..i'm guessing..2
8) I remember this from highschool geography.. I wrote Miami..and i got it wrong...so i remembered is Tallahassee (for Florida), Nashville (for Tennessee..this one is easy) and Albany (for New York..is not New York City people!! get it right)
9) 13? hahahaha jkjk is 21..(Canada legal drinking is 18..smoking is 19..Casino is 21)
10) (this one is hard) i'm guessing Florida?
11) Chicago aka Windy City (this one is easy too)
12) I don't get that "What happens there, stays there." r u asking who said that quote?
13) South Dakota..(this one is easy..learn that in American History class)
Those questions are much more harder than simply knowing what the UK is. You need to appreciate your ancestors, and seek an education and learning otherwise you can't complain about the government you get.

Right, let's try and do these without looking up the answers (no point doing that) to show how very little I know about America.
