Ida, you should be able to figure out what the whole article is about. Its stating what us Americans have been saying about 9/11 since it happened. We would have a much different opinion about what happened if it was a government building and not just a really tall one full of people that have nothing to do with the Washington DC's policies of the world.

To be honest I thought that shit was the beginning of the end of the world that day. I can only imagine what Mister D was experiencing but 500 miles away Boston was absolute chaos and it was some of the craziest shit I will ever witness I am sure. Or at least I hope so.

9/11 is also a constant reminder that nobody is truely safe 24/7 365. Because of some crazy fuckers with beliefs that we are all evil dudes. It just aint right.

Say what? lol. I see so you are allowed to be proud of your country and no one else is allowed to live in a great country? Oh damn my bad. I am sorry I think Canada is a great place. Please forgive me. And for the record I never once said anything about Canada in a positive light at any point.

I also wasn't the one who brought the word Canada into it. I was asking an honest question because of what Mister D said. I was looking for a real answer and didn't get one. I actually have no motive what so ever other than to know what people thought it was about since no one had commented.

Actually, I don't know where to begin with any of the trash you posted. Simon brought up something I meant to as well...

Yup. That especially goes for countries like France and Germany, who's petty leaders are pouting that they're not the cultural epicenter of the world anymore. That also includes Canucks such as yourself (note: not ALL of you) who have that inferiority complex. I don't have figures, but I'm pretty confident our contributions to help the poor and hungry masses around the world are a tad greater than Canada's...or any other country's. And so what, you're saying Canada doesn't have poverty, sick, homeless, elderly, etc? When did that happen, I missed it. Our problems are no worse than your's (or any other nation's), but people like you get your kicks out of pointing at the evil USA and blaming us for all the world's problems. Go for it, most of us really don't care what you think. We're secure. Sadly if you guys ever needed aid, once again we would be the first in line to help your ungrateful carcasses.

You also say we're not safer because of what Bush has done? Wrong. The systems we've implemented are far from perfect but its a step in the right direction. As far as going into Iraq and Afghanistan, I already made my feelings known about that. Its a necessary thing for the safety of OUR country, since few else seem to care about it besides us. The UN is ineffective in its current state. We learned who our friends really are...and aren't.

Now more to the point, what exactly do YOU think is the proper way to do things? Let the UN continue to do nothing and allow the terrorist actions to go unchecked? If Toronto got brought down by AQ, would you still think it wrong to go after them? Bin Laden in a cave is better than Bin Laden roaming freely...its a start. They will get him in time, and meantime he's living life as a fugitive. The Husseins? Yeah, we'd never get them either...remember?

As far as how the Iraqis feel? I really don't care...you're right, as long as I feel safe thats what matters. I lived near Midway Airport in Chicago back on 9/11, and when I got home from work at 2am that night I could hear the fighter jets flying around overhead, patrolling to protect us from further attacks on OUR OWN SOIL. Not a pleasant time. As I mentioned before, the people we help cheer us with one breath and curse us with the next. We need to make sure that their new government is stable and functioning, not to mention NOT HOSTILE TO US, before we leave there. We haven't occupied, we haven't conquered...I mean, what's the problem? We did some exterminating. Civilians die as a result of what other Iraqis and Arabs are doing out there, mercenaries from other countries, and that's OUR fault? Right. Newsflash...we didn't turn those people into assassins, killers...they were like that all along. You choose to ignore the good that's come of this and focus on the negative. All you want to do is cry about what bad guys we are, when in fact we're the victims. We're just making sure we're not victims any more.

You can keep whining and crying all you want, but if you expect me to believe that if this happened in Canada you would feel the same way...you're either a liar or an idiot.
