5 years isn't a big difference, but I remember my past and I look at it like this, if he's 22 and not dating women a little closer to his own age, there may be a reason. Maybe he's immature, Maybe women his own age don't want to put up w/ his shit so he's going after someone younger.
Now I don't know him, he could be a great guy, but I never trust anyone in a situation like this.
This letter to Savage Love puts it best:
"I wish I’d known when I was 15 that dating older men does not mean you are hot shit; it means you’re dating a dude who can’t get women his own age, and that those women are avoiding him for good reasons. Karen L."
Pink- like I said, this guy could be different and 17 to 22 is better than 15 to 22, but it's up to you. I dated a couple of older guys and I always found this Karen's letter's advice to be true after a week or two w/ all of them. Just be careful and keep a chastity belt on.

I see, I wasn't saying that only immature fuckheads date younger women, I was just warning Pink that that's something to think about, that it could happen. It's not a definite rule for every case, that's for sure. (although it mostly was in my case, but then most of the guys I dated were fuckheads regardless of the age gap- I thinks it may be the case that I think most people are fuckheads in general.)

Hello. I'm almost 26. Doyle is just turned 19. Younger chicks RULE! Everything is nice and tight. I have a friend who goes for the opposite (50 year old sag bags). He says they have "experience".

Back when I was that age, we'd figure someone dating someone that young was some kind of loser. General rule of thumb for dating a someone in high school was it was ok only if you were in high school as well. Aside from the illegality of it, I figure someone thats 22 and dating someone underage has some issues, including lack of integrity. Or from Kentucky.
Its not even a matter of the difference in years between the ages. Seven years difference between people in their 20s and 30s is not comparable to a situation where one of the parties is underage. You know damn well that we all wish to be in that situation (dating 17 year olds, not the milk carton thing). If I was her father I'd be setting up hidden cameras in the shower....
