Are the majority of cars people drive, automatics? Are there any roundabouts?

In NYC the vast majority are automatics. Driving a manual in the city would be a fucking nightmare.

I've noticed that outside the city, it's still mostly automatics, but there are some people who drive a stick shift as well

In California it's about 50/50 as we have a lot of mountain terrain in the valley and it pays to have stick. I drive an SUV with 4 wheel drive.

And yes Quack there are roundabouts here just not as large as in the UK I think, at least it's that way in California.

Is a roundabout a traffic circle? If so, there are a few of those. There was one in the twon where my colege was, and it was the fucking stupidest thing ever. Mostly becuase all the dumb fucks in the town couldnt figure out how to use it. And considering half the town was over the age of 60, that made things REALLY dangerous

There's one in the middle of Manhattan too (on 110th St and Central Park West). If you look at it from above, it looks like a crosshairs. So, if you want to make a turn, you have to use the circle, but people going straight can go through the middle of the circle. So, there is a stoplight at every quarter-arc around the circle. So, if you want to make a left turn, you have to wait for three traffic light to change. It is REALLY fucking annoying

I myself drive a stick, but not many people around here do. Most of the farmers have trucks or whatnot w/ 4 wheel drive, but that's at least 50 miles from me. Otherwise I come from a pretty wealthy county (a few years ago we were the 2nd wealthiest per cap in the nation) and so they all have automatics or more often an suv (gotta have an suv for all that city driving, idiots) w/ 4 wheel drive.
I live in a college town that has a few roundabouts, they are awful. This city thinks that roundabouts are a good idea and so are adding a few more as they do road work, everyone not involved w/ having them built/added thinks they are stupid and often dangerous. We don't have so many old people out here, but lots of stupid young 20 somethings w/ their parents money to blow who don't care about learning the rules of the road, and a lotta lotta drunks.
