How do you decide on your passwords for various things in your life?

Email? Internet/Phone Banking? Online University/College databases? Open Forum?

Do you always use the same password?

I used to always use a particular password that was the name of a place I used to live, and the only thing still operating under that is this forum account.

Nowadays, my internet banking password for three different banks are all a silly word my girlfriend always says.

My university website password is derived from a bands name, followed by an obligatory symbol and my date of birth.

I often forget my passwords for things I sign up to and don't go back to for ages.

I rotate about 10 passwords... All in which are a mix between random letters, and numbers. None of which have any real order, or meaning...

You know what you really have to watch out for is email accounts. You'd be real damn suprised how easy it is to get into them. I noticed this as of late, on hotmail alls you have to provide is your username, your zip code, and answer a question. If your question is something someone who knows you would know bam there goes your email, and privacy.

Same for yahoo you simply need username, birthday, zip code, answer the question. I couldnt believe how faulty this was...

I always just do random stuff for the question answer, that me myself doesn't even know.

As for usually, and one here I just use my username in reverse.

Sometimes I ask my 4 y/o neice for a word and whatever she chooses I will use as my password.
