'Mentally ill' dad chops daughter up Posted Fri, 08 Apr 2005 A 37-year-old "mentally ill" man has been arrested for chopping his three-year-old daughter to pieces using an axe, Limpopo police said on Thursday. Police spokesperson Inspector Ntobeng Phala said neighbours called the police when they witnessed the man, who is married to a mentally ill woman, chopping the child. "The incident happened in Ga-Seopela village in Sekhukhuneland. It appears as if the man, out of the blue, took an axe and started attacking his daughter who had been playing outside. "The child died instantly," said Phala. He said the little girl's body was found in pieces. "The man will appear at the Sekhukhune Magistrate's Court tomorrow (Friday)," said Phala. http://iafrica.com/news/sa/148533.htm | |
