Does this have something to do with your belief that there is no God?

Personally, I don't know what to believe in anymore..I mean some F'd up shit happens in this world that nobody has really been able to explain, but nobody has solid proof that it was a ghost or something else either...

It's like do you believe in aliens?

I do believe in aliens of some kind because of all that space out there you'd think something else was living besides us. what do you think? Aliens out there or what?

I beleive in ghosts, i've never actaully SEEN a ghost but my dads house has a ghost. He lives in one of those super old houses that was built in like the 1920s or somethin. And lots of times everybody would be downstairs and we'd hear windows open upstairs. Or close a window come downstairs and then go back up later and it'd be open again, also things like footsteps at night throughout the house and just things like that.

Yeah Blitz I would have to say that it does have to do with Miakal not believing in God. I was always taught that there are not really ghosts, but evil spirits and those are not to be messed with. I don't think there are any nice ghosts that are friendly. And Miakal it does not have anything to do with being rational or educated because I consider myself to be those as well and we are as different as night and day.

I actually do not believe in them, in spite of the story I'm about to tell. This is a cut and paste from a story I submitted to a website that deals with hauntings and that. Its kind of long, so forgive the bandwidth eaten:

I used to work as a forklift operator in a large 3 floor building that served as a warehouse. The 3rd floor was used primarily for storage and usually had small crews working them, especially at night. One night I was assigned to work the 3rd floor on the far north end of the building. This was a very large room, but because of the layout of the warehouse this room was pretty much cut off from the other parts of the 3rd floor. There were many dark, dirty areas up there where seldom-used materials were stored, so those areas always had a creepy feel to them. The only ways to access the area I was in that night was through a freight elevator by the staging area, a double door leading to an office area that was locked at night, and 2 staircase exits: one by the elevator, and one all the way in the back of the room.

So one summer night about 10 or 11 I was up there picking materials and staging them in the staging area. I had several pallets of material lined up, and as I was backing my forklift out of the staging area I saw someone, from in between the pallets, walking towards my desk. I was backing up to the west, and the figure was heading to the south. There was maybe 10 feet between myself and where I saw the figure. I thought it was security at first, but security had just made their rounds a few minutes earlier and wouldn't be back up there for a couple hours. Then I thought it was my supervisor (since the figure was heading for my desk) looking to collect my finished paperwork. Since I had the paperwork with me on the forklift, I decided to meet her at the desk and give it to her. Now all this contemplation of who the figure might've been took less than a second to run through my head. So as I backed around the pallets to go to the desk (which was right behind the staging area), it had been maybe 2 seconds since I saw the figure walking.

I backed my forklift around the pallets and...there was no one there. Not a person in sight. I got off the forklift and looked down the aisle way towards the staircase exits. Nothing. And I didn't think there would be since whoever I saw was heading away from the staircases. No one got on the elevator since it was loaded with material and still on my floor. And no one went through the double doors since they were very hard to open when they weren't locked (careless forklift drivers) and made a lot of noise when you did open them. So it was obvious that whoever I had seen simply disappeared in the matter of seconds from the time I saw them to the time I went out into the open to approach them.

Now when I say I saw a figure walking, I don't mean I sensed movement. I actually saw a figure, clad in light attire, walking. I saw the legs moving and everything. I was a little freaked out, but I finished picking the material.

So when I was done with my assignment I rode the elevator down to the first floor and used another forklift (mine was still upstairs) to remove the goods. After I was done I went into the sup's office and asked her if she wanted my paperwork. I gave her the paperwork, and coyly asked her why she didn't just ask me for it instead of going through the desk for it. She said she hadn't left the office all night and had no idea what I was talking about. So I told her my little tale and she looked at me like I had an arm growing out of my forehead. I really didn't think it was her, but I wanted to make sure. So as I left her office and headed back to the elevator to get the rest of the material, I began to get a very uneasy feeling, like the hairs on my neck standing up. I really didn't want to go back up there, but I had no choice.

So I went back up and quickly loaded what I could on the elevator. Sadly I still had 1 pallet I had to bring down that I couldn't fit so I still had 1 more trip to make. I parked my forklift with the remaining pallet on the forks directly in front of the elevator so all I had to do was jump on it and drive. After I removed the current elevator load I ran into one of my coworkers and told him what happened. I asked if he wanted to "give me a hand with the last load" to which he replied "Hell no!"

Great. So I went back up, and this time I was VERY uneasy, though I suspect a lot of that was of my own doing, my mind getting all worked up. Thing is, I'm not easily frightened. So I go back up there and hopped on my forklift and drove it on to the elevator, then shut the door. But from the time I had arrived on the floor to when I closed the door, I had felt a very strong compulsion to look next to the elevator, down a darkened walkway. No way! So I had kept my eyes on the seat of my forklift the whole time, got on the elevator and shut the door. I hit the button for the first floor and as the elevator began to descend, a strong pounding began. First it sounded like it came from outside the door, then as the elevator began to move it sounded like it was coming from the top of the shaft. The harder I resisted looking, the more determined the pounding got. My mind ran wild with what I might see if I looked in the direction of the noise, so I never did look. I tell you, that's the longest elevator ride I'd ever been on! I got off the elevator, and got the heck out of that area.

After telling this tale to my coworkers, 2 things happened: 1, a few of the people on my shift absolutely refused to go up there any more at night ("I always thought there was something creepy about that room!"), and 2, I found out that a couple of the guys who regularly worked the other side of the 3rd floor had similar experiences but didn't want to talk about it for fear of being ridiculed. The 2 guys who were regulars up there (but they always worked alone, never together) said they had caught glimpses of a similar figure moving around up there when they KNEW that no one else was up there besides them.

After that when I worked my regular area, which was the second floor, including a room directly under the room where I had my experience, I would often catch glimpses of someone walking through the area. This room was also poorly lit, and at first I had thought it was the headlights of my forklift reflecting off the shrinkwrap on the materials. I thought that was it until I realized that none of the material in this part of the warehouse was shrinkwrapped, therefore there were no reflective surfaces. We've since moved out of this warehouse, but even after I was in my new building and needed to go back to this building for material, if I needed material from the 3rd floor or from the 2nd floor room where I had seen the figure walking, I'd have someone else get it.

I don't believe in anything.

I used to believe in "evil spirits" (I had a horrible Christian upbringing or just Christian, the horrible is redundant).

I think if you just think through the world all these fantasys slowly begin to vanish. Think about God. He's an invisible man in the sky. Why is this an acceptable belief? Seriously.

If I told you that an invisible man in the sky named Zajar had told me what to do and given my life a purpose, that I would die for him, you would lock my ass up without thinking twice.

If you did the same thing and replaced Zajar with Jesus Christ you would get a tax break plus the highest praise you can get in this society (JVN Open Forum).

It's bullshit, plain and simple.

I really feel sorry for anyone who believes in this. Worse still, ghosts because it wasn't corrupted youth which forced that upon you; it was your own inability to accept logic and serious scientific study.

I bet if you asked the top 100 minds in this country if ghosts existed most of them would give you a laugh and the rest a solid no.

If ghosts, evil spirits, or the devil exists I ask for him/them/her (most likely her) to enter into my soul.

Enter into my soul ghosts!
Enter into my soul evil spirits!
Enter into my soul Satan!
Do it!
I open my soul onto you!
Do it!

If I don't appear tomorrow on your beloved forum you will know that I am wrong and Zajar is here to stay.

If I return than it's back to our secular and logical ways.

Miakal, I think you've somewhat crossed a line there. If that's what you believe, its a shame...but you have the free will to believe what you choose to. However, many of the comments you made are really inappropriate and offensive.

There's a difference between expressing your opinion and posting something that radically offensive to some people.

It's offensive to constantly hear about Christianity or issues about the supernatural. I think it crosses a line for some kind of people, certainly me, yet that expression is never heard because of certain pre-established Western taboos based in tradition.

In the end I'm merely putting into question certain beliefs by other people. I didn't call anyone an idiot, but I just put a little something on the table for everyone to see.

That certainly is NOT what you did, and I do believe you are quite aware of that...you're not stupid. Ghost stories in the traditional sense do not equate in any form to Christianity.

You are not questioning beliefs in that statement you made, you are intending to offend.

Why is it a shame if he doesn't believe all this non-sense that the Bible and religion in general tries to shove down people's throats? I agree with what you had to say Miakal.
