I had a futon once and it sucked. Sometimes I woke up in the middle of the night and had to flip it because it was killing my back. I would've been better sleeping on the floor.

They do have really good ones. Ida, yours sounds pretty nice.

I still have that futon and use it for a couch. It's good if someone wants to sleep over for a night. It's not that bad. Just sucks for everynight sleeping.

Ya, it is pretty thick. It is not super soft but has a lot of support and is not too soft or too hard. I did have a pretty shitty one before this that was like the one you are describing. The frame of the futon was metal and eventually fatigued and broke.

Yeah, my frame is wood which is kinda good but also has no proper give to it at all.

Mostly it was the mattress. It's just cheap and poorly made. If you sleep on it for more than a night it really starts to sag.

Mine is sturdy but i did the butt jump when getting up and it split part of the frame lol. Any other frame would have shattered. A lot of wood glue, some clamps and a few days and it weas like new.
