Rep Power: 20 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Stephen King SAID he was retiring from publishing, but the latest news is he has something in the pipeline. I've read everything he's written so far, and the last three Dark Tower books were certainly a drop off from the former ones. I think he was just so desperate to finish it after his accident, he didn't have the time to deveolp his ideas fully enough. Bag of Bones is his greatest book. It's really, really well written. I bloody love it. In the face. Twice.

Rep Power: 24 ![]() ![]() | I am currently reading this thread right now. Later I will be moving on to another thread or 2. I don't read books that often. I find I get too bored and I don't like quiet and I need it to be quiet to sit and read. I am just not a book person I guess. |

I can't say enough good things about it. I read it last year when I was flying a lot back and forth over the Pacific. I had just read Da Vinci Code before this one and was convinced that I would not find a better book for flights for a while... but man, I still remember the first time I finished the book, and sat in my seat in disbelief that a book could manage to shock me like that. Well, most people I've spoken really enjoyed Life of Pi also, but the few that didn't really really hated the book. So I guess you can't trust me completely. I heard they're making this book into a movie too, hopefully I can convice at least a few people here to go see it I just can't guarentee the movie to be good though.

That was one thing I loved most about the book, that Richard Parker didn't go Jungle Book on us, no anthropomorphism. I think M. Night Shyamalan is directing.
