I'm reading Stephen King's The Stand again. I'm about 500 pages in, so there's still a way to go. At least this time I know the ending, so I won't be as stupendously disappointed.

Tomorrow's Just An Excuse Away,
So I Pull My Collar Up And Face The Cold, On My Own.

"Life Expectancy" by Dean Koontz. I've never read any of his novels before, but recently finished the Anthony Kiedis biography at work and this was right beside it.

i'm in the process of reading several books:
lincoln murder conspiracies
wrestlecrap
stephen king's the dark tower (the last/final one)
america the book

btw, new stephen king sucks. i don't know if he's still writing it or using a ghost writer, but the last several books i've read by him were awful. this will be the last new king book i ever read, but i have to finish this damned gunslinger series.

I used to read Dean Kootnz as a lad. Phatoms was pretty good. They may have made a movie.

Stephen King retired from writing fiction (last I heard) after The Dark Tower. I like Stephen King, to an extent. As far as pop fiction goes he's pretty clever. I read the first four Dark Tower books, mostly in high school. I got the fifth one at the library a few weeks ago and could hardly get past a few pages. You're right, it's fucking awful. Maybe I'm just too old for that shit, maybe it gets better somewhere as it goes, but there's no way I could read that.

I saw the movie The Stand and thought it was pretty good.
