Child or adolescent murderers

Discuss suitable consequences for the crime of murder committed by someone under the age of 19, or whatever is legal where you're from.... is it reasonable to suggest that some of these individuals have a personality disorder and therefore "couldn't help themselves"?

I think these people should be locked up for awhile. If you kill that young there is obviously something wrong and they shouldn't be out in the main public. They should be locked up until they are legal age and then be sent to real prison after that.

In the States I believe they just made it unconstitutional to put to death minors who commit or committed crimes. THey have to be taken off death row.

A 15 year old kid who kills someone isn't going to be the same person when he is 25+ and I think they deserve a second chance if they have changed and grown up. I think it is reasonable to assume they have some disorders or issues that maybe if given a chance can be treated. Maybe if they were in the right mind set and more mature they would be able to at least control there actions to a degree.

I don't see the point of letting them out. They will most likely kill again if given the chance. To me it is not worth the risk

I say lock them up. And then on their 18th birthday, put them to death.

I was thinking they could keep them in juvenile hall or whatever it is called until they are 18 years old. Then they could have a new trial and psychological evaluation and then determine if they could be put to death.

ida's right about the states, the supreme court ruled that you can't put kids under 18 to death, or retards...
there's this one story here in usa about a (i think) 15 yr old boy who brutally murdered (chainsaw) his grandparents and the lawyers tried to blame it on his zoloft (anit-depressant)
how stupid, he was found guilty, no sentenceyet that i know of.

Well he won't be sentenced to death at least. I believe he also burnt the house down and blamed it on a black man.

i just heard the blame on zoloft, not anything about a black man, or burning the house down.. but then so many kids are killing people, esp grandparents these days, it's hard to keep them straight
