i live in lawrence kansas, the most/only liberal area of kansas and a college town and even we have a smoking ban. what the hell. it's crap. can't even smoke in a bar. it pisses me off too b/c i know second hand smoke is harmful to children whose lungs have not yet developed, but i've yet to see real proof that it's harmful to adults. the who and the epa both put out studies saying it is harmful. but those studies were both thrown out by federal court b/c they were all lies, they made up the numbers. anyone who died who'd lived with a smoker, no matter what the cause (stroke, heart, cancer of any sort etc) were listed as having died of 2nd hand smoke. i want real proof and i want people to stop bitching about how my smoke is killing them. grow up. it's killing me sure, but that's my choice.

I'm a non-smoker myself, so I'm obviously biased, but I think a smoking bans a good thing. I know it's annoying for smokers to not be able to light up when they want to, but I think it's just a matter of civil kindness. I know for sure I don't want to go home from work smelling bad, and I don't even want to think about what it could be doing to my insides!

You cant smoke on any public transport in the Uk. it will banned in most pubs next year and a lot of workplaces are stopping it too

I don't see why they want all the people who smoke to quit. I hope all the smokers quit that way the government doesn't make any more money off of em.
