What are your thoughts on the death penalty?

This guy here in Connecticut is 'spossed to be executed at anytime (once all the appeals are done) and it got me thinking...

Do you believe in the death penalty?

Or do you believe more in life without the possibility of parole?

Death penalty is wrong. No 1 has the right to take another human beings life. Plus the death penalty is inhumane.

I think they need every precaution to be put into use with the death penalty.

Obviously it's a waste if you are killing innocent people because that's not justice at all.

However, if it simply comes down to them being guilty or not then I say kill them.

There was a guy on Extreme Makeover lastnight who was in jail on death row for 10 years for a crime he didn't comit. He got a total make over because one of the reasons why he was convicted was his looks and teeth. He is a very nice man and almost died over something he didn't do.

I agree. I wish every state had the death penalty. But sometimes it may be better to just leave the people in prison for the rest of their life. If they are in prison, they get the rest of their life to think about what they did and will have to face it every day of their life. By doing this it will send them a message of what they did was wrong and will make them rethink their choices. However, one can argue that by putting them in jail for the rest of their life overall accomplishes nothing. Being in jail there is no point for them to rethink what they did because they are locked up for it and some peole may prefer to be in prison so they may have committed the crime on purpose. Generally, I feel that they should just let the person choose if they want to die or if they want to stay in prison. Another thing to consider is how much more it costs to put people to death than it would be if they were locked up forever.

I agree with everything Rambo said

I have one major problem with the death penalty and thats the chance that you could kill someone innocent. Because of this, I would reserve it for only people that DEFINITELY did it

As for it being inhumane, being killed by lethal injection is probably the most peaceful way that a person can die.

I agree. Lethal injection is not like they are torturing the people when they do it. I think it works by relaxing all the person's muscles and then it shuts down their nervous system. It is nowhere near say shooting someone in the head.
