Miakal?

Ok, DDG's post in MSN buddies has me thinking I've been pronouncing Miakal's name wrong this whole time. I've been saying "Michael", thinking that he was just spelling it German, or something. Now I have good reason to believe this is wrong. Can someone clear this up for me?

I pronounce it Mi-ACK-all but not so much emphasis on the ack. So it is kind of like saying ache.
