Rep Power: 23 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The only thing about it that made me really mad personally, was this big black guy in the stands clocking Fred Jones with a few shots from behind, when it looked like Jones was just trying to mediate. Even REGGIE MILLER got suspended one game.

| I don't agree with the one year suspension or length of some of the others at all. There should have been security in the area dealing with the fans who were majorly out of hand and there wasn't. If there was security there like there is supposed to be it wouldn't have happened. There comes a point when fans make it so it isn't safe for players and I would have done the same thing. In my opinion the max suspension should have been a couple of games, the fans should have been banned from NBA games for life and the Pistons should be getting a major fine for not having the proper security in place. |

Dude, these are professional athletes CLOCKING fans... running into the stands and absolutely UNLOADING on spectators... and you want to suspend them for two games max? What are you asking of Detroit personnel, have riot squads sitting every other row, armed with assault weapons?

Burn the whole dump down. If you ask me, Ron Artest was trying to get out of playing for some time. Maybe he didnt think it would be all season, but I betcha anything he knew what he was doing and the consequences involved when he jumped into the crowd. Has anyone seen this tape in detail? I have seen it numerous times in slow motion. If I were a betting man I would guess that the dude Artest hit had nothing to do with the drink throwing in the first place. First off he was completely alone in the stands. You are not likely to do something that outragous when none of your drunk pals are around to see you do it. And also.........he still has a drink in his hand. You can see the look on his face like. "What the hell is he coming after me for?" Also, the fat dude that got clocked on the floor had no right being on the basketball court, but that still doesnt give these athletes the right to suckerpunch them right in the side of the head. Last time I checked they did not carry a police badge. I say Suspend Artest and Steve Jackson for the year. The fans that they could have caught swinging should have all been arrested as well for assault and battery. Just another reason to NOT watch the NBA. I

Rep Power: 9 ![]() | Artest and Jackson both deserved at least a one year suspension. You just can't do that. I thought Ben Wallace' six game suspension was a little harsh, since it seemed like all he did wrong was push Artest after the hard foul. Unless he did more that wasn't shown on TV, I think he only deserved a couple games at most. I agree with Freak though. When all is said and done, it was just really funny. You can give thugs nice cars, nice clothes, and lots of money, but at the end of the day they're still thugs. You can take the NBA player out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the NBA player. All around it was just really trashy and really funny, at least it was funny to me, the guy that wasn't knocked cold by Jermaine O'Neil. |

Rep Power: 36 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Stephen A. Smith made a really good point on Sportscenter tonight. He felt that Jackson should have recieved just as long a suspension, perhaps longer, than Artest, because at least Artest was provoked, and Jackson just went into the stands, unprovoked, and started swinging. I'm not sure I agree, but i think its an interesting point. Also, i'm glad Wallace got the suspension. He may not have done much, but he was the one who set the whole chain of events into motion. He totally overreacted to the Artest foul. Also, I heard that the guy who threw the drink was actually the guy standing next to the guy that Artest went after. The guy in the Pistons jersey who grabs Artest from behind right when the whole thing starts Also, i wish the guy who came onto the court got beat down a lot worse than he actually did. He was some fat, 5'8 nobody from Detroit, and he goes after a jacked 6'7 professional athlete from one of the worst neighborhoods in New York, who also has a history of semi-psychotic behavior? What a fucking moron Also, i think Jermaine O'Neal's penalty was way too harsh. He never went into the crowd, and he only punched the guy who came onto the court in a threatening manner. All in all, i would say the Artest suspension is appropriate, the Jackson suspension might be a little light (40 or 50 sounds good), On'Neal should have been 10-15, and Wallace should have only been 3 or 4. All in all, i think the NBA handled it pretty effectively By the way, the Pacers are absolutely fucked. They've lost their three best players for a thrid of the season. We might as well hand Detroit the division title now. It'll be interesting next time the Pacers play in Detroit.
