Michael Moore vs. Jesus

The Strange One

Michael Moore has posted this mock-map on his website to serve as a form of satirical commentary on the results of last week's election. Its been my observation lately that, when it comes to politics, "God" becomes a four letter word among those with more liberal views. Moore's assertion with this map, and the supplementary editorials on his website, seems to be that he believes the majority of America was blinded by its religious beliefs when voting for the President and for social issues, such as the banning of gay marriage.

My question is this: Is there anything wrong with Americans voting the way they believe? Regardless of whether they believe in each other's views, isn't that the point of voting? Are people blinded by religion or guided by it? On which section of the map would you rather be?

here's a funny story about michael moore. my girlfriend goes to kent state, a place michael moore decided to preach his god-like-ness at. her room mate put up a little sign in her window that said "michael moore-on." out of total coincidence, where does michael moore pull up? right in front of the her dorm rooms. he steps out, takes a picture of it, gives a wave to the crowd (a.k.a no one.) and moves on to the mcdonalds down the street.

What the hell is there to lie about? Hell, using Fahrenheit 9/11 as an example, he cites his sources in the companion novel. Kinda hard to lie about the Bin Ladin family flying out of here post 9/11 (when all other planes are grounded) when there are records proving it. Hard to lie about the Bush family's ties with the Saudis when it's already well known. Hard to lie about Bush's associated with James R Bath, when it's right there in his records.

And he doesn't think he's God.

And he doesn't hate America (I know that wasn't stated, but I've heard it before), he just hates what the current administration has done (like many of us).

That's a lot of hate for a man who states facts and inserts satire into the mix.

Bad example.

Firstly, it was proven that it was Richard Clarke (Moore favorite members of the Bush administration since he turned around and stabbed him in the back) that ordered those flights, not Bush. It had nothing to do with Bush and Moore admitted this after the movie was released. Also, if I remember correctly, the flights didn't actually leave until the early hours of the morning on which ever day flights resumed again, so they weren't in fact the only ones that were allowed to fly as Moore would like you to believe.

But the idea, though, that they weren't even interrogated about the possible whereabouts of Osama irritates me. There's something just wrong about it.
