Should abortion be legal everywhere?

Is it morally wrong?

Was are the positives and negatives about abortion?



Being a father of two beautiful little girls this is a very tough answer for me. Ultimately, I believe it is the mother/girls choice.

Some may say that you are killing a person, and while that may be true, none of us remember what it was like in your mamas womb so its hard to say for me that its murder or anything.


Women that are raped and impregnated. NO Question these people should have this option open to them.



Be nice guys. This is a subject that can cause many different emotions. Respect each others opinions. There will be both sides of the fench on this one.

This topic produces some of the most impassioned debates.

I'm not a Bible-thumper by any stretch of the imagination. I think, though, that God respects life and so should we. That being said, I don't know that the government should ever legislate such a personal issue.

I've also heard very good cases made for allowing women who are raped to have abortions. That's a whole other issue where I think exceptions could be made.

The only type of abortion that deserves to be outlawed is the partial-birth abortion, which is just brutal.

As a Catholic, this is probably the most debated topics.

I would never, ever, have an abortion. I have a best friend who's mother was going to have an abortion, but gave birth to her. I wouldnt have a best friend is her mom had choose to abort her. Even if I was raped, I wouln't.

I think adoption is far too often overlooked. There are so many couples out there who would love to adopt a baby, and could be better parents then I could ever be. Another friend of mine got pregnant last year, and gave her baby up for adoption. Her doctor adopted the baby, because he and his wife couldn't have children. I think that is pretty cool.

Even though I would never have one, I do not think anyone has the right to say that no one else can. If someone has an abortion, that's their choice.

If you are not mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, etc. capable of having a child then definitely have an abortion.

I don't believe it should be used as a means of birth control though.

I know that if I got pregs by a raping, that fetus would probably be gone.

Its a tough argument.

I think a lot of it centres around the debate over when you can say the foetus is alive or not, and whether you have any right to kill an unborn baby who has no choice over whether it lives or dies...

I for one believe that every case should be considered on its own merits, and I know thats dangerous because you're essentially putting someone's life at risk. I think as a rule, im against abortion. BUT in circumstances such as rape, or having the foetus aborted to save the life of the mother (as per the medical hippocratic oath), and severe disability that will render the child's existence as one of pain and suffering to be exceptional circumstances. I don't think that you should be allowed to abort just because you've had 'an accident'.

I believe it should be the father's decision. He made the baby and he should be the one deciding. A woman should never make such an important decision.
