Does anyone else find it a little hypocritical that if i a woman decides she wants to abort a baby, she can do it even if its against the father's wishes, but if she chooses to have the baby and the father wants an abortion, the woman wins out and the man has to pay child support for the rest of his life?

Anyway, my stance is this: There are a lot of unsuitable parents out there. I mean, there are a ton of people who have no business bringing a child into this world. Society has enough problems as is, and we dont need more children being born into broken homes, and to parents who couldnt give a shit about the kid's upbringing.

Morally, I disagree with abortion, and I also think that having the option of an abortion allows people to act irresponsibly. But, if it allows for a better society, then it's fine with me.

Also, the option of abortion prevents unhappy expecting mothers from going the "wire hanger" route.

I can see where abortion would be needed (see rape, the mother's life at risk, mother's too young, baby going to die anyway), but I can't support someone wanting an abortion just because they don't want a baby.

If you're 15-18, sorry, should have either A) not been sexually active or B) used birth control. The excuse of "I didn't want a baby" doesn't work.

And quite frankly, those who have had abortions in the third trimester should be beaten. The baby truthfully is alive by then, and it's sick to kill it off.

Seriously, I do believe they should have laws, where you actually would need a license to have a baby. You need a license for everything else, You cant drink until you are eighteen, but yet you can have a baby at 15 and anytime you want.

The sure way to avoid child support is not getting somebody pregnant in the first place. Just ask Shawn Kemp. No contraceptive is 100% safe so you know the risk before you venture down that road. People shouldn't have sex if they're not mature enough to take the responsibility for a child because ***newsflash*** that's how babies are made.

I believe prevention almost nullifies the argument completely. I doubt this issue would have become so big had people not abused the procedure. As Skintaria posted earlier, it shouldn't be used as a means for birth control.

Need a license for everything? Since when do you need a license to drink? In my state, the legal drinking age is 21 and we have statutory rape laws that say that minors are not supposed to have sex until they're 18.
