Rep Power: 42 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Question for Narc So, i was playing poker last night with a few friends (No Limit Hold 'Em), and it came down to me and one other guy. The other guy had about 4 or 5 times as many chips as me. He also was pretty aggressive, almost always calling when people went all-in, and trying to push me all in numerous times when it got down to the two of us. I got dealt a K3 suited (hearts) and went all in. He predictably called and had a QJ off-suit. Flop was K 9 2 with two hearts, so i had high pair and a flush draw. He got the 10 on the turn to make a straight, and i didnt get the flush on the river. Was that a good hand to go all-in with? I thought it was, and after the flop I almost definitely would have gone all-in anyway. Did I make a mistake here, or did i play it right?

Well when it comes down to heads up, K3 suited is not a bad hand to go all in, especially if you had no chips. Its different if you had to call the all in. You did the right thing and the cards screwed you. He just got extremely lucky. Thats a really bad beat.

Me and my friends dont play high stakes (biggest we've ever played is a $20 dollar buy-in), so I figure I can make my mistakes in actual games and just learn from those mistakes. I've been doing pretty well, as I usually win, or come close.

But with different players and more pros, I dont think you will. You just started and therefor you are still learning. Trust me, reading books helps.
