| Who won the VP debate? Cheney won, barely. It was boring. Neither answered the questions. Edwards was repetitive. Edwards had an amazing "conclusion" | ||||||||||||||

| I dunno, I don't think anyone won it. It was real boring. If it were wrestling I would give it to Edwards for looking better while doing his thing. He also had me laughing when he kept saying Kerry's name when he wasn't suppose to use his name in his response. | ||||||||||||||

| I didn't see all of it. I missed the beginning and was flipping back and forth between the baseball, but from what I saw, Cheney absolutely smoked him. Edwards lost that debate at least as badly, and probably worse, than Bush lost the debate to Kerry. | ||||||||||||||

It was no way a "smoking" of any sorts. Cheney did look better. He came off with better responses. Edwards had some good ones as well, though. Cheney didn't win nearly as big as Kerry did, and I don't think Kerry won by a massive margin.

| I watched about two minutes of it before I decided that I was bored to tears. Besides, the VPs won't suade my vote. | |||||||||||||||
| When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fullfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and be taken as prisoners to all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. ...At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. Luke 21:20-28 | ||||||||||||||||

I would watch about 15 minutes of debate, then watch a couple minutes of the game, then switch back. I saw most of it, and it was definately a decisive victory. Edwards just didn't come prepared, and Cheney did. I think he expected Cheney to be defensive like Bush was in his debate, so he wasn't prepared for the attacks Cheney presented and he had no retort. Funny thing actually happened after the debate. John Edwards was talking to a group of his supporters, and he was saying that in response to Cheney's accusation that they'd never met, that Cheney was wrong, that they had in fact met at some fundraising dinner, and a second time at the swearing in of a Senator. That was pretty dumb of Edwards, because in doing so he totally validated Cheney's point.

| I thought they both "won" in the sense that neither of them made any mistakes that I can see coming back to haunt them (like Kerry's "global test" phrasing or, well, uh, everything Bush did in last hour of the first debate). I don't think there was any clear winner; I have a feeling the debate strengthened both campaigns. Cheney came across as knowledgeable and level headed, and that should help the republicans get back in stride after being shellshocked over the last few days. Edwards gained a lot because he had pretty much disappeared in the last few months, and now that he's managed to hold his own in a debate with a guy who's been around Washington for twenty years he looks more like someone who really could be president, and not just like some charming goof whose sole purpose is to give Kerry's campaign a personality. | ||||||||||||||

| I didn't watch the whole thing, but from what I watched it looked like Cheney "won". Both sides seemed to keep changing subjects though. | ||||||||||||||
