| When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fullfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and be taken as prisoners to all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. ...At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. Luke 21:20-28 | |||

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | I didn't watch it, but I listened to it on the radio. It seems that Bush's mannerisms have played a large part in making people think Kerry trounced him. I didn't see them, so I was solely influenced by what the two fellows said. In the first thirty minutes or so, when they were focused entirely on Iraq and the decision to invade, I think Bush was actually beating Kerry. Pretty convincingly, too. There's no denying that Kerry's said some rather contradictory things about Iraq, and he did a lousy job of explaining why he'd done so. However, as the debate went on and Bush ran out of preplanned things to say, the tide shifted. The true nature of the two men became more and more apparent. Kerry began to sound like a thoughtful, articulate man, while Bush's incoherence and intellectual vapidity became undeniable. I'd say Kerry barely won. However, if the public at large decides that he kicked Bush's worthless ass from here to Korea, that's fine with me. |

Bush started off very well but seemed tired by the end of the debate, don't know what the deal with that was. As much as you rabid liberals would love to believe it Kerry did not mop the floor with Bush. If he did Kerry would be winning in the polls right now and every major newspaper in the country would be talking about how he made the president look like a fool in the debates. No one is saying this, what they are saying is that Kerry looked better prepared and more presidential in his questions then Bush. The Left is understandably enthused by this debate because its been months since they have had anything tangible to hang their hats on. It remains to be seen however, if this will actually help Kerry out any in the polls. I have read a couple articles where research actually shows that the American public actually doesn't mind when President Bush fumbles over his words as it makes him look more human. The liberals that frequent this forum of course disagree arguing that this debate only reinforces that Bush is a moron. Just because he talks slow doesn't mean he's stupid. Bush didn't come off bad, Kerry just came out of it better. He was in no way "crushed" as you've said. | |
