Honestly, I don't get it. The actions can be considered as criminal, I think that is what you mean. I hope so.

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | I was referring to people who assault the police and would attempt to destroy public property. Of course a guy who speeds is not the same as an Osama Bin Laden who has slaughtered thousands. To clarify, from everything I've read so far those people arrested were taken into custody because they were protesting in a zone that they were not designated to protest in. The action these people have engaged in is criminal but in no way are they terrorists. If something happens tonight though, where a person trys to disrupt the convention with some sort of violent act then yeah I think they should be regarded as terrorists. I really don't think you need to kill atleast 3,000 people as you said to qualify as a terrorist. I was referring to the threat of people using violence which would qualify as acts of terrorism which there certainly is, especially tonight when the protesting will probably be at the highest levels. I have no problem with protesters, I'm not insinuating that they are terrorists. |

Rep Power: 19 ![]() | I think we are on somewhat agreeable terms. Still, I have trouble with the looseness that the word "terrorist" has in modern day language. I think an act of terrorism is an act of applying fear through violence against the country. Applying fear towards the country as a whole, not a political party or opinion. People have attacked policemen since policemen existed. Was this supposed've been labeled an act of terrorism? The protesting zones are stupid and a complete jab at civil liberties. Look at Boston, they had a cage they could step inside and be in or as it was called "The Free Speech Zone". |

Rep Power: 24 ![]() ![]() | Thry have to have that zone. Think about how easy access terrorists would have posing as protesters to do some real damage. Obviously these people who are inacting the right to free speech think it also involves the right to violence as well. They are right to make them go in a assigned area. Not to mention being there assembling as a group with out a permit. I think you would be singing a different tune if they let them protest where ever they wanted and it ended with more innocent people hurt or even a terrorist attack due to easier access. |

If the government doesn't want violence then maybe it should start listening to it's people, or it's voters depending on your viewpoint. Anyway, I'm from Chicago and we have a fantastic history of protesters.

It would be like Canada. Or better yet, Norway. But we don't live in these magical places, we live in America. It's funny that you keep thinking that people will "just bitch about anything" when the fact is, at this point in time in our world, you couldn't be further from the truth. America has only had one great philosopher yet none of you morons are capable of understanding his message.

Rep Power: 24 ![]() ![]() | Couldn't be further from the truth? How about law suits that involve coffee and being too stupid to know it is hot and going to burn you. or the PTA,PTC Green Peace who happens to throw out false facts to gain support.etc and a million other groups poping up. |
