EVERETT — Tami Silicio had warned her sons they might be receiving some phone calls from reporters. But Will Taylor, 21, was still caught off guard yesterday when the phone started ringing at 6 a.m.

It was CNN wanting to interview him about the photograph his mother took of flag-draped coffins on a cargo plane waiting to leave Kuwait — the photograph that got her fired from a job with Maytag Aircraft, a military contractor.

In a newsreading you can use loads of words to describe the death of a soldier, but a picture is worth a thousand words. Images and pictures help you think for yourself about things, but the government doesn't want independant thought like that, a lot like how the Catholic Church was against silent reading hundreds of years ago.

I know. There's a few other pictures which are equally as disturbing.

It puts things in another perspective. It's hard to grasp the fact that young people's coffins are being shipped back at such an alarming rate, and will continue to, over this war.

Bush doesn't want anyone to see that. Although it's unlikely he'll be re-elected again. The key to his re-election is finding Osama. Saddam just isn't good enough.

I am failing to see the controversy. There have been pictures and movies of soldiers and Iraqi's dead and not in coffins which have been considered less controvery than that. A couple of weeks ago there was that movie of Iraqi's dragging, burning and hanging dead soldiers which I don't recall getting much controversy. A lot of hatred towards Iraqi's but that is about it. I think there is a lot of stupidity going on about these pictures.

she didn't work for the media dumbass. plus she got what she deserved because they already told people not to take pictures of that stuff.
