Indeed - there will be no draft. More reservists might get called up, but there isn't going to be a Vietnam-style draft anytime soon. Besides, I'm in the clear - my vision is so terrible that if I lose my contact lenses in the heat of battle, I'm a liability to anyone around me.

As reservists are being pushed, illegally I might add, to do more time and then consequently coming home anyway it seems like this issue may be real and not just another "liberal lie machine".

Conservative Congressmen Dr. Ron Paul from Texas says that the draft is inevitable, regardless of who wins in November.

Many others are saying the same.

Not going to happen, I actually researched what you just said. www.about.com search for "the draft"

It clearly states that if the draft does come back that everyone would be avaible to be drafted wether you are in college or not. The ages would be 18-24. Also heading towards Canada wouldn't be an option eithier because the government would have the Canadian border closed for anyone trying to leave. So if you really are worried I suggest leaving now. Other wise you will be screwed.

So before you post "Thank God I'm in college I can't be drafted." because you are wrong.

And if what you said was true and in this day in age everyone would just go to county college to advoid the draft which I don't think would happen.

The age numbers aren't set in stone either. Look at World War II where middle aged men were being drafted.

You can still get drafted if you are in college. I would think (and hope) that most of these people would get more technical jobs or stay in America (let's remember that wars are not purely won in the midst of gunfire).

I wouldn't be shocked if the Canadian government allowed people to come through. Their govenment or Prime Minister rather is the one who called Bush a moron and "the axies of good" idiots.

Plus, there's a bunch of ways to get into Canada. It's a large country. Not all the borders are closed off.
