| Major computers internet problems. HELP!!! Hi, for all you computer internet geeks in the boards, how do you stop it from various porn sites automattically going to your Favorites folder? You know how them porn sites are. The more you browse porn sites on the web, the more they decide to find ways to destroy your computer. You see, I keep trying to delete the porn sites off my favorites folder, but when I reboot the computer, all those porn sites are back on my favorites folder. I spent hours and hours today trying to figure a way to get those porn sites to stop coming to my favorites folder. No matter what I do, they keep coming back. Has this happened to you before? What do you do to make it stop? And by the way, I never put the porn sites on my favorites folder, they just automattically went on by itself. I'm thinking it may have something to do with cookies I'm not sure. | ||||||||||||||

| you may want to try a "cleaning" program such as Ad-Aware or Spybot Search & Destroy. Also clear your browser cache. Go to a neutral page (use google.com), clear your cache then shut down your browser, reboot, then return to our site. Be sure to delete "all offline content" when you do this. a) Go to the TOOLS pulldown menu and select INTERNET OPTIONS. b) In INTERNET OPTIONS, select the GENERAL tab in the menu box. c) In the GENERAL menu, press the DELETE FILES button. d) In the GENERAL menu, press the DELETE HISTORY button e) In the GENERAL menu, press the DELETE COOKIES button f) Close down all instances of your browser g) Reboot | ||||||||||||||

| Yeah, I think I have a virus too, I did like three or four virus scans and there's a bunch of viruses. So it looks like I'll have to rebuild my entire hard drive. ![]() | ||||||||||||||

| One of the reasons that porn sites find their way into your favourites list is sometimes to do with your homepage. you can delete them from your faves.. but as soon as you open your browser.. its going to fill back up. Like Ida Said.. set your home page back to google or whatever and start cleaning. The best solution is probably Ad-aware. Also, if you are partial to porn sites, then ensure you arent getting diallers thrown at you.. i remember last year there was a spate of that happening even when people WERENT looking at porn.. it was some silly windows exploit... always check your network connections. | ||||||||||||||
