You can pm the answer if you want, so you dont ruin it for someone else A teacher in an elementary school math class needed to speak with one of his colleagues for a little bit, so he wanted to give the students a problem guaranteed to take a long time. So he told them to add up all the numbers from 1 to 100, figuring it would take them at least a half-hour to solve. 30 seconds later, one of the students came up to him and gave him the right answer. What is the answer and how did the student figure it out so quickly? | |||||||||||||||

| Nobody answered my question... The answer is 5050 The student realized that 1+100=101, 2+99=101, 3+98=101, etc. There are 50 such pairs that add up to 101 (ending with 50+51), so the answer is 101x50=5050 | |||||||||||||||
