| What Bertuzzi did tonight was a complete joke, and I lost a motherfuckload of respect for the guy. As a Canucks fan I am embarrassed, not just by the score, but by the fact that one my team's leaders and top players could do something as stupid and gutless as that, something that will likely cost his team the division, and maybe more. Just sickening. This is up there with McSorley a few years back. | |||||||||||||||

| Well Steve Moore is a young checker/roleplayer on the Avs, who took a semi-cheap shot at Canucks' All-Star captain Markus Naslund about a month ago, giving him a concussion. Tonight, down by six goals in the third period, the Canucks' other All-Star forward Todd Bertuzzi went after Moore. He challenged him to fight, and like any sensible player Moore declined (Bertuzzi is just massive). Finally, as Moore was skating through centre ice without the puck, Bertuzzi came up behind him and absolutely clocked him with a right hand. The punch knocked Moore out on his feet, but Bertuzzi drove his face forward into the ice, and then all the other players piled on top. Moore was taken off the ice in a pool of blood on a stretcher, and didn't regain consciousness until he was on his way out of the building. Really really despicable, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Bertuzzi miss the rest of the season for this. | |||||||||||||||

| Bertuzzi hasn't lived up to expectations this year anyways. He should have way more goals than he does. I agree he should be punished big time for this incident. | ||||||||||||||

| It says that he is suspended indefinitely without pay from the NHL. I don't get it, isn't it the hockey club that employs and pays him for his services? | |||||||||||||||

| yes, but its the league that hands out suspensions. they just tell the team not to pay the player while he's suspended. it's like that for all American sports | |||||||||||||||

The reason why is that Bertuzzi has completely shifted his game from offense to a more sound defense game, look at his plus/minus stats, last year he was +2 yet scored 97 points, now he's hovering around +25 and playing a really sound defensive game, yet not shooting nearly as much. Looks like it's gonna stay that way for quite awhile. The way he transferred his game like that shows how good of a player he is. Which is weird to see what he did last night, this year he had really cleaned up his game, was starting to get that discipline he sorely lacked the past two years (2001-02 suspension), he had stopped taking stupid penalties and started really polishing up his game this season, which is why its a real shock to see this. I wouldnt classify Steve Moore as a roleplayer or even a skilled checker whatsoever, he really is a cheap hockey player, he had something coming to him for what he did to Naslund, but as much as I hate the Avalanche and Moore and was quite enthralled to see what was coming to them, what Bertuzzi did last night was just over the line. I saw the hit last night drinking with my Canuck buddies, the biggest fans of the team you'd ever meet. When I saw it I actually was behind Bert for doing what he did, but mind you I had quite a few beers clouding my judgment. Anyways all sobered up this morning I'm still split on what happened but its really leaning towards a good loss of respect for a guy like #44. Two years ago he was suspended for 10 games (which cost him the scoring title) for leaving the bench in that brawl. Now you probably won't see him at least until the playoffs if he's lucky. A 20 game suspension at the least is what he deserves. An eye for an eye I guess for Steve Moore, I really have a genuine disliking for Colorado, so I'm not sympathizing with them or their coach. Granato is probably one of the stupidest men in a hockey position right now and should go in for another brain surgery, thus listening to him ramble and a piece of shit like Worrell who has cheapshot'ed players with punches, makes it damn hard to lend a sympathetic ear to Colorado. Moore on the other hand had something coming to him, hell I wouldn't want to fight The Incredible Hulk Bertuzzi, but he sure didn't have a blindsided punch to his head in justification. So basically in closing the turn of events was pretty damn disgusting and I have lost mucho respect for Bertuzzi, but as far as an eye for an eye goes, it still couldn't have happened to a better team or player then Colorado and Steve Moore. | |||||||||||||||

| Yeah you couldn't disgree more. Big surprise there. lol. Anyways... Let's review this: Burtuzzi is mad at Moore for injuring Naslund, so he helps the Canucks further by getting himself suspended indefinitly. Burtuzzi is a dumbass. Hope he's out for the season. | ||||||||||||||
