Rep Power: 8 ![]() ![]() | Political Correctness - Has it gone too far? Am I the only one who hates the term "politically correct" and all it represents? Skinartia's post on Rudolph the Sexually altered Red Nosed Reindeer sums it up. So called minorities or oppressed groups feeling that stuff should be changed to suit them. You can fuck right off. Why should stuff be changed to be "politically correct"? Another one I hate is some women thinking the term "actress" is somehow sexist, and so they want to be called "actors". Why is it sexist? Like I said, fudge off you tree hugging losers. |

Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Yes, yes, yes! I so totally agree! Apparently, a Merry Christmas card may offend minorities. How? They're not getting it sent to them! Anyway, other religions pretty much say that they aren't offended by people of other religions celebrating their special days. PETA are another bunch of arseholes. "Meat is murder". They've even compared eating meat to the Holocaust in WW2. They deserve to be disbanded, because that is sick. People can eat meat if they like to, because we live in a free society. I will eat meat, no matter what they say. If they choose not to eat something, then the rest of us do not have to follow. Who's to say that we are wrong? Nobody in their right mind takes them seriously, they are seen as a joke outside their little group. |

Rep Power: 24 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | On the Christmas issue, I almost have to side with those who claim to be offended. I can't imagine being a Jewish kid in school, or a Muslim or a Jehova's Witness or what have you, during the week and a half leading up to Christmas Holidays. Seriously, my school is just littered with Christmas decorations, from wreaths on the doors to a 30-foot tree in the "commons" (foyer, in normal terms). We don't do any work in the last week, just watch Christmas movies in class and eat candy canes. To be completely honest, it seems really rude and ignorant to me. I know the school board has stated that Jehovah's Witnesses are excused from school that final week if they'd like, but again, it seems rude and ignorant. I love so much about Christmas, and I'd hate to see it brought down by anything, but I can't help but feel bad for people (especially kids) who don't celebrate it. As for PETA, maybe I'm missing something, but I've never seen or read anything about their organization ragging on anyone for eating meat. Obviously they don't support it, and they go to great lengths to show how "meat is murder," but I don't think it's as if they're calling us sinners or anything -- I don't think so anyway, again I may be missing something. And for anyone to compare anything at all to the Holocaust is just moronic. | |
