since there is a lot of bitching(not on the forum tho) about who is better, i wanted to see what you people think.
do the Yankees suck? or
does boston have a curse?
vote for which one you like better

personally, i like the red sox better. the yankess just by all their championships. Plus their owner is the biggest bitch i ever have seen. all he does is complain about anything the red sox do, such as they have an easier interleague schedule, then trying to dust off the losses they had to the red sox by saying the season ain't over and sh*t like dat.

And the Red Sox just buy second place. ???

I am the biggest diehard Red Sox fan in the WORLD. Thats right, number 1 overall. I bleed red........wait. Yeah, I bleed RedSox.

I believe the Yankees have made a huge impact on baseball but it is mainly because of their wallet. If every team could profit over 800 millon dollars after spending 3 times more than most of the teams in MLB then well, every team would be overspending.

Yes, Red Sox fans play 2nd fiddle to Yankees fans simply because we have won IN 86 F*CKING YEARS, but we are true fans that stick it out now matter what and where our hearts on our shoulders.

I AM PROUD TO BE A RED SOX FAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Yankees Suck.

Yankees all the way

and about the yankees buying all their championships, 5 of the yankes 9 regular starters (Bernie Williams, Jeter, Soriano, Posada, and Nick Johnson) all came up through the farm system and were not "bought". Same with Andy Pettite and Mariano Rivera. Plus, we havent won a championship since making our recent blockbuster free-agent pick-ups (Mussina in 2001, Giambi in 2002, Matsui and Contreras this year). The reason why the yankees have won so much is because of their home-grown talent (and the fact that george can afford to keep them). Before signing Mussina, the yankees didnt really have any huge free agent signings since Tino Martinez in 1996. Lots of little signings, but nothing huge

but yeah, i know the yankees payroll is astronomical, and i'll be the first to admit its ridiculous. but george makes a lot of money. and i'd rather he put it into the team than keep it all for himself

Well lets see, shall we. No major signings since 1996 huh?

I would like to also point out that some of these players are home grown, but I will also put their 2003 salary next to it. The Yankees payroll this year is 156 million dollars, Toronto's payroll 27 million. Where is the justice behind that?

Paul ONeill (traded to the Yankees from the Reds)
Scott Brosius (traded to the Yankees from the A's)
Chuck Knoblauch (traded to the Yankees from the Twins)
Roger Clemens (traded to the Yankees from Toronto)
David Wells (free agent signing, was used to trade for Clemens)

Jesus, I dont even need to do this.......all the players on this team have been brought in a paid far more than they are worth. There are 17 guys that make over 3 millon a year.

All i am saying is that when you spend 56 millon more than the Sox in Payroll, you damn well better win,

all the guys that you mentioned were traded to the yankees, not free agent signings. thus, they didnt "buy" those players. The yankees had valuable commodities in their farm system that allowed them to acquire those players. thats a tribute to the yankees farm system, that they can trade so many prospects that go on to have successful major league careers (like Eric Milton in Minnesota) and still be able to develop young stars like Soriano and Johnson

Before Paul O'Neill came to the yankees he was an average player at best. he never hit .300 before coming to the yanks. i wouldnt call Brosius or Knoblauch big deals, especially considering how Knoblauch performed in pinstripes (although Brosius was a solid 3rd baseman. not super, but solid). when i said big signings i meant huge blockbuster deals, like the mussina and giambi deals. the kinds of deals that even make yankee fans like myself say "damn, thats not really fair"

the yankees payroll is huge, and i know its not fair. they have many overpaid players (jeter is a prime example) but it takes more than just a large payroll to win. just ask the mets and dodgers.

One thing you are wrong about MrD. is the fact that yes they were traded to the yankees but a majority or the deals were done because the other team couldnt afford the player due to him being eligible for arbitration at the end of the year or simply couldnt afford to pay the player that year.

Then surprise surprise the Yankees come calling......"Sure we will take that terrible contract on, here we will trade you Johnny Suckbags and Larry Lickmyballs for your good player."

Name one player that was traded from their minor league system that has had a good career in the majors, comparable to all the guys they took in as well.

And no, Eric Milton doesnt count. The guy has a career record of 56-51 with a 4.80 ERA. Thats hardly quality.

Montreal Expos are at the top of my list. However I despise the New York Yankees, and am a Boston Red Sox fan. I guess its a family thing, my grandpa has loved them forever and they hadn't won the series since the year before he was born. So I always am deep down rooting for them, would be really nice to see them take it this year.
