Music influencing action

I rember a while back here in the UK, that black music was taking alot of blame for the use of guns.

Do you think its possible for music to affect people that much?


To me.. its not such a far cry.

People who listen to alot of rap and stuff totally change they way they speak and adopt alot of mannerisms such as all that sh*t with the hands and talking alot crap like 'fo sho'.. and suddenly alot of them adopt a new accent too! I had to laugh at people in the pub the other day.. people i was in school with who were as normal as you and me.. then seeing them years later you would swear that they came from the ghetto or something.. talking in that false american accent and using the ridiculous hand gestures.

Now i aint saying this is the norm.. and I aint saying that everyone who listens to rap music behaves in this way. But come on.. if it can totally change the way people speak, change their personality, change the ACCENT and their mannerisms.. picking up a gun doesnt seem such a far cry does it.

You go into the Yahoo Rap chat rooms and its pathetic.. not only do they adopt this false accent but they also TYPE the bullshit too... all saying things like 'FO SHO', 'AIIGHT' and 'HOLLA'. It maddens me because I can bet that none of them were raised to speak like that.. they chose to adopt this false accent and persona just because of the music they listen to.

Yes music does influence action. It doesn't influence the way I speak though, I got the accent of where I live, no American bullshit and have never heard anyone here speak American, so I don't know what your talkin about, but every place has their own slang. ???
