Have any of you ever seen a commercial on TV and its made you go out and buy something?
You have companies ploughing millions into various campaigns and I cant help but feel its a waste of time because no commercial has ever gone out and ever made me want to buy something.
Yeah, fastfood sometimes. Video games used to capture me quite often.

So do we, Shankhoe is living in the past.
No, I'm not. Matty S. is way too cool to be taken in by television.
And McDonalds advertising are great! They're the greatest company in the world! I bow down to you McDonalds, the greatest employer a man has ever had!

I'm in agreement that I've never rushed out and bought something purely because of an advert.
But I believe advertising can be effective in hyping/raising awareness of something. For example, I greatly look forward to the Matrix Revolutions. Partially due to footage, partially due to first film, partially due to inevitable great action.. and partially due to the adverts on telly. It's just raised my anticipation.
Which is what the best adverts do - they don't aim to make everyone buy their product - they merely make the people already interested even MORE interested. Which is why so many adverts are ineffective.

Watching those new mcdonalds commercials makes me yearn for the days of Ronald. Absolute sh*t.
