English is the official language of the US and it's been modified and adapted from the ye olde speakke of the days of yore know as the King's English.

Actually, the US doesn't have an official language (I believe).

Why don't we have an official language? Because we accept the fact that not everyone who is in this country will speak English.

Why do the british speak english? All we are is a bunch of foreigners too.. French, Icelandic, Roman, German.. even the english language is an off shoot of old german.

English is actually the Universal language, everyone is supposed to know it, used to be French but tis English now.
