Do the Democrats have a chance now?

Now that Saddam has been captured do the Democrats have a chance at election time?

I guess it's still too early to tell, even with this. A lot could happen between now and next November. It's a major win for Bush though.

It's a little early to tell. It still depends on who the final candidate will be and what his stance is.

I'll probably be voting for the Democratic candidate, anyway. My vote will never go for Bush...unless the Democratic candidate says something like, "Let's nuke the commies." That'd be a little...scary.

I don't think this affects the chance for the Dems that much, but it probably hurts someone like Howard Dean more than Kerry or Leiberman. However, if they come up with Bin Laden, that's when it will be time for the Dems to pack up and look to 2008.

If Saddam gives up some info regarding WMD (which I doubt he will), then that would cause some problems all the candidates.

Nope - I don't think so. Not to mention there really isn't a strong democratic candidate out there. Wesley Clark is running as a democrat, but he has republican views and the only reason he's running as a democrat is because Karl Rove wouldn't return his phone call when he decided to run.

Howard Dean almost stands a chance, but there are some things that aren't going to work for him.

Dennis Kucinich is making a run, but it's too little too late.

You might be able to say that now, but according to the polls on Saturday a majority of the population said they'd vote for the Democrat candidate over Bush (and Democrats were winning by about 10%).

I'm just saying it proves that not everyone believes that there isn't a strong candidate.

There isn't really a strong candidate. By this time of year it should be down to 2 or 3 people, not 7 or 8. The fact that Al Sharpton still has a chance shows how weak the pool is.

In fact, he never had a chance.

It's not uncommon for their to be this many candidates.

George Bush's race with McCain was a lot closer than the one between Dean and everyone else.

personally i will never vote for a democrat...from what ive seen on tv, i don't think a democrat will win or really even come that close to bush
