Have you ever purchased someone a gift and they didn’t appreciate it at all?

Yesterday was my girlfriends birthday (she turned 14) and thankfully this wasn’t the case, but I was reminded of times where I bought birthday presents or planned special dates and never seemed to get any thankfulness from the other person.

I was dating this girl a couple years ago and for her birthday we made a date and drove to Cleveland. We stayed at a nice hotel (Motel Six) and I bought her a ton of stuff, and she totally didn’t seem to care at all. I mean, there was like nothing coming from her (but some stuff coming from me).

It just pissed me off.

It sucks to put special attention on someine, especially when it includes money, and they don't seem to be responsive.

Anyone feel the pain?

Here's something that fits into this topic, yet slightly off track. My gf absolutely loves this tommy hilfigure watch in the xmas catalog, it's like $100 bucks. So I ordered it and figured this will be the best thing ever. I told my buddy about this and he said it's totally bad luck to buy your gf/wife a watch because it means that time will run out and she'll dump me.

I've never heard tell of this, has anyone else? Is this true? Or is my buddy just a jackass? Cause man, she really likes the watch...

I give her stuff all the time. Won a street cents t-shirt in a contest the other day so I gave her that, plus I bought a whole bunch of other stuff. But I like spoiling my women. She won't leave quite as fast and I won't have to be all single and stuff. Cause man, that sucks. Don't want anymore of the single life..eew.
