| The problem with spending 89 Billion dollars on Iraq, aside from the obvious--the war had no merit or reason in the first place--is that WE ALL have to pay that debt AND we are paying for something that can never be in our control, ie the Iraqi people.
Ultimately, the Iraqi people have to decide their fate.
A lot of blame can be thrown at the British for mapping Iraq out the way it is. It should've been divided up originally because there are too many ethnic groups that just hate each other. The second problem is, America...unless we take complete control over it forever, is never going to make these people get along. At some point their future will be in their own hands and their going to go to war against each other.
There isn't much we can do about that. We shouldn't prevent them from going to war with each other, either. For the minorities of Iraq war is the only answer to help them solve their problems, for them to have some level of justice. |
