Maple Leaf Gardens sold.. - to a grocery chain?!

So, the famous Maple Leaf Gardens is being turned into a grocery store. *ugh* That sickens me as a hockey fan. I hated to see the old arenas close, but this is a total disgrace. I damn near cried when Chicago Stadium was tore down. There was such an atmosphere in that building. Always wanted to get there. It also sucked when Boston Gardens, and the Montreal Forum were closed and/or torn down. The only original six team who still has their arena is the Rangers and Madison Square Garden. If they could fix that place up why couldn't they do it to the rest of the old arenas.

OK, I rambled enough but this really is a shame.

the boston garden was wicked small tho, i don't think there was anyway you could add on to it without like tearing half of it down to begin with

Yeah, was considered the most cramped, dark, smelliest, smoky arena among the old greats. Man I would have loved to go there though.
